Following on from my article "How to buy a Kindle Paperwhite in South Africa" where I stated that at the time of writing you could not buy a Paperwhite in South Africa via Amazon international directly - well now you can :)

9th November 2013 Update - the new Kindle Paperwhite has been released - check out this post to see how to order the latest generation Kindle -

Or carry on reading -

You need to make sure you are buying the right Kindle however - there are certain products that are allowed to be shipped to South Africa - here is the product you need:

And here is a link to Amazon International that you can use:

So the cost of the Kindle Paperwhite 3G/WiFi version without the annoying ads comes to ZAR 2,458.67 and this includes all the taxes and duty into SA.

Place your order for a Kindle Paperwhite 3G
Compare this on and you will see as per Order Summary that direct from Amazon is cheaper and in my opinion much better as you get the Amazon Warranty intact - thier warranty is worth having because Kindles do fail and when they do Amazon simply ships you a new one - I don't see local SA retailers being as helpful.

The Kindle will also be delivered within 2-7 days for this cost. All in all a good deal I think.

So if you want to go ahead and order click here to be taken to the International Amazon site - :  Finding it otherwise can be a challenge :)
