It was only after I started to review my year 2011 in preparation to set my goals and objectives for 2012 that I realised that I hadn't posted a link to one of the singular most fun and new experiences that I had in my role as marketing and sales director at Intervate Cape Town in 2011.

My brief, considering this was my first foray into the world of marketing video, was scant at best - I wanted to capture the essence of a community event, in terms of its eclectic attendees, the dynamic vibe of the speakers and attendees alike, and to align this all to Intervate's values: "Passion, Innovation and Excellence", and I wanted to align Intervate with this most fantastic of knowledge sharing events.
At Intervate, we really hold high the importance of knowledge acquisition and sharing and believe that this is key to developing the noticeable skills shortage in South Africa in the Microsoft SharePoint space.
The result was better than my hopes, exceeded my expectations and dazzled the other sponsors, speakers and attendees. I had committed a good portion of our marketing budget to this activity without any experience or knowledge of the video medium, but based on a gut feeling I knew this was a worthy venture. I am pleased to say that the result fulfilled its objective, which was to position Intervate as a leading partner in the SharePoint community in South Africa and to also encourage knowledge sharing and to show to the wider audience some of the broad capabilities and applications of Microsoft SharePoint 2010.
